About The Position

This position works with the Cobb PARKS Adult Athletic Leagues, supporting leagues such as Softball, Basketball, Flag Football, Kickball, Pickleball, Golf, Ultimate Frisbee, Cornhole, Volleyball, and Spikeball. Leagues are played at various parks and facilities in Cobb County. Responsibilities include keeping score, monitoring games, understanding league rules, submitting game scores, and assisting with the setup and breakdown for league games. Staff will also help at special events, community events, recreation centers, tennis centers, aquatic centers, and with other PARKS units when needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Supplemented by one year of work experience that shows an ability to maintain steady employment in any field.
  • Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable.
  • Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, taste, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals.
  • Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

Responsibilities

  • Performs customer service functions: provides information or assistance regarding services, activities on the phone and in person, forms, procedures, fees, or other issues; responds to routine questions and complaints; researches problems and initiates problem resolution; and refers complaints/problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Processes participant registrations, court reservations, tournament registrations, and other scheduled services and events: receives requests for classes, court times, or other scheduled services; reviews registration forms for accuracy and completeness; enters information into online database and calendars; collects and records fees; and maintains related documentation.
  • Prepares facilities according to daily schedule: opens and closes facility; unlocks and locks doors; turns lights on or off; disarms and sets alarm; moves, sets up, and tears down tables, chairs, etc.; and performs routine cleaning duties such as emptying trash, sweeping floors, etc.
  • Maintains attendance and punctuality within customary tolerances for this position.
