About The Position

San Diego’s St. Paul's PACE program (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly). This innovative program is for individuals 55 years or older, who are living with chronic illness, or disabilities and need coordinated medical care to continue living as independently as possible in their home and community. The healthcare teams at St. Paul’s PACE provide a hands-on approach coordinating medical, social, and home care services so individuals no longer need to manage their medical care alone. Job Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the Recreation Coordinator I, helps with the assessment of participant abilities, limitations, and preferences related to activities. Assists in planning and providing group and individual activities for the participants. Duties involve personal contact with participants and logistical support in coordinating & implementing recreation programs. Tasks also involve progress documentation, other record keeping, attention to the environment, use of supplies and equipment, and maintenance of storage areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of Activity Director’s Certification.
  • One year experience in a social or recreation program in a health care setting or any combination of education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum requirements.
  • A minimum of one year experience in working with the frail or elderly population required.
  • Able to clear fingerprints through DOJ and FBI.
  • Able to clear a drug screen.
