Part Time Recreation Attendant

About The Position

The City of Pearland is hiring a part-time Recreation Attendant to perform a variety of duties at an assigned recreational facility, maintain the property, and interact with patrons by answering questions. The role works under close supervision and follows established procedures. The hourly salary is $13.67–$14.80, based on qualifications. Availability to work weekends may be required. The attendant monitors activities conducted by contracted and independent instructors, officials, rental groups, and volunteers; assists recreation participants, spectators, umpires, and residents; and responds to public inquiries and concerns. The position also supports front-desk administration, facility upkeep and security, and event preparation and cleanup. Additional duties include overseeing daily and special-event use of the Natatorium and assisting with filtration-system operation, maintenance, and repair.

Requirements

High school graduation or GED equivalent.
Three months of recreation or closely related experience.
Valid Texas Driver’s License.
First Aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

Monitor activities of contracted and independent instructors, officials, rental groups, and volunteers.
Provide assistance and information to participants, spectators, umpires, and residents regarding recreation programs and parks.
Log daily visitation.
Evaluate participant needs and interests and make recommendations.
Respond to customer and public inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
Assist with front-desk administrative duties, answer phone calls, sell and renew memberships, and give tours.
Clean and maintain facilities as needed.
Lock and secure the building and recreation areas, including fields, at the end of the day.
Assist with event setup and participate in event teardown.
Oversee daily and special-event use of the Natatorium by department staff, schools, military, community organizations, and clubs.
Patrol facilities to detect damage and report it to the appropriate authority.
Assist with filtration-system operation, maintenance, and repair.
