About The Position

The Recreation Attendant creates a welcoming and enjoyable environment for guests through attentive service and a passion for recreation. The role maintains clean recreational areas, assists guests with activities, and sets up and maintains equipment to support safe, memorable experiences. The attendant upholds hospitality standards while helping guests enjoy recreation and relaxation at the resort.

This is an on-call, seasonal position at the Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. Duties include maintaining pool and beach areas, inspecting recreational spaces and equipment, assisting with guest activities, supervising children during Grand Fun Camp, and completing related administrative tasks.

Requirements

• Less than a high school education, up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and hygienic pool and beach areas, monitor pool chemical levels, and ensure equipment is in good working order.
• Enforce pool rules and prioritize guest safety by regularly inspecting and maintaining the pool deck, slide, and surrounding areas.
• Set up and maintain beach chairs, umbrellas, and watercraft, including Hobie cats, kayaks, and sea cycles; operate equipment safely for guests.
• Engage with guests, answer questions, act as a liaison between the hotel and guests, and manage recreational activities.
• Supervise children during Grand Fun Camp, complete required paperwork, and organize games, crafts, and activities.
• Complete paperwork related to pool operations and recreational activities, and manage tickets and summary reports.
