About The Position

HealthFitness, a Trustmark company, is seeking an enthusiastic Recreation Assistant to support the recreation team at the Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness facility in Bentonville, Arkansas. This on-call/substitute role provides coverage when regular staff are unavailable and supports recreation programs and events that enhance the member experience and foster community connection. The position assists with activities and sporting events for children and adults, tournaments, recreation and team-building events, and customer service at the recreation desk. It may also involve providing private lessons.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Adult and pediatric First Aid and CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety & Health Institute before the start date.
Professional appearance and attitude.
Ability to start and complete events and activities in a timely manner.
Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including the ability to motivate others.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Working knowledge of member management systems, databases, and tools.
Ability to organize and prioritize work demands effectively, meet deadlines, and collaborate with all business units.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while running events.

Responsibilities

Assist with promoting and running recreation events, including tournaments, mixers, leagues, and play events.
May teach individual or group sports lessons to children and adults of varying abilities, creating a fun and engaging environment suited to participants’ skill levels.
Assist members and guests at the recreation desk with enrollment, purchases, reservations, and equipment checkout using the software management system.
Restring racquets, regrip equipment, perform minor court and equipment maintenance, and prepare or break down recreation equipment for events.
Ensure students and players follow safety guidelines and demonstrate good sportsmanship.
Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
