About The Position

Under general direction, assists in conducting recreational activities with assigned groups in the recreation center by performing the flowing duties. This is a Safety-Sensitive Position as defined under Oklahoma Statute Title 63 § 427.8. All candidates conditionally offered transfer, promotion or initial hiring into a DOT/safety-sensitive position shall submit to testing for drugs and alcohol and test negative before performing any job functions that are safety-sensitive or require a CDL. External job applicants with a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test result shall be denied employment and shall be required to wait one year before applying for another position within Tulsa County.

Requirements

  • Education equivalent to graduation from a four year high school with a diploma or GED (General Education Degree) and be at least eighteen years of age.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and taste or smell.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist with making reservations and helps enroll participants in classes.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Center, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning the restrooms.
  • Stocking the restrooms and other areas.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the Center staff and outside instructors by being courteous, helpful and visible in the time of need.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
