About The Position
ParadigmWorks Group, Inc. and Hartford Job Corps Center is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide to lead young adult students in recreational activities. The schedule for this position is Wednesday from 5pm-10pm, Saturday from 1pm-9pm, and Sunday from 1pm-8pm. The pay rate is $20.19 per hour.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and an impeccable driving record.
- HS or GED.
- Experience working in a school setting.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug test (including testing for marijuana).
Nice To Haves
- College helpful.
- Experience in softer skills like sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, painting, and/or engaging youth in activities like hiking or volunteering on a farm or urban gardening.
Responsibilities
- Lead young adult students in recreational activities.
- Plan and recommend activities and day trips that may include other Rec Aides.
- Transport small groups of students to events and outings.
- Prepare reports and case-notes as needed.
- Ensure a safe environment, following all safety and security protocols.
- Mentor and model professionalism.
- Encourage the student who is shy or reticent to participate.
