About The Position

Routine work of limited variety and complexity in recreational programs and activities. Reports to the designated supervisor and works under limited supervision.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum of 3-6 months experience dealing with general public/customer service required.
Must be able to read and write.
Follows oral and written instructions.
Valid Florida Operator Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
Ability to instruct program participants in varied recreational activities.
Ability to work effectively with co-workers, the general public, and children.
Ability to communicate clearly and courteously to assist others.

Nice To Haves

Part-time regular employees are required to obtain American Red Cross certification in First Aid and CPR within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

Assists in conducting activities which may require performance of tasks outdoors under varying climatic conditions.
Distributes equipment for games.
Records center attendance.
Assists in maintaining order and discipline.
Checks equipment to ensure it is clean and in proper working order.
Assists in instructing sewing, ceramics, arts and crafts, dancing, and games.
Performs related clerical work.
Copies center schedule for distribution to the administrative office.
Answers telephone and gives information on center activities and schedules.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
