About The Position

The Recreation Advisor monitors, plans, and directs students engaged in center-sponsored activities both on and off center. The role uses creative skills to teach healthy and enjoyable extracurricular activities at the Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center in Reno, Nevada.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience working with youth.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and coordinate a diversified program that attracts voluntary participation.
• Chaperone students to recreation functions both on and off center.
• Plan and conduct activities to enhance student retention and meet students’ needs.
• Participate in the Career Development Services System (CDSS) by creating positive peer leadership and modeling through activities both on and off center.
