About The Position

Cumbria Tomorrow Together is a mental health service based in Workington, providing compassionate, person-centred support to adults aged 18 and over across Cumbria. We work with individuals experiencing challenges in their everyday lives, as well as those facing a mental health crisis. We offer practical assistance, emotional support and guidance tailored to a person’s individual needs. Our aim is to empower people to improve their wellbeing, build resilience and develop coping strategies to support with their recovery journey. The support provided is in the form of one-to-one appointments or community drop-in sessions. We look at interventions and ways of managing mental health and wellbeing as well signposting to other relevant services. We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to respond compassionately to sensitive and complex issues
  • Able to motivate, support and advocate for people using services
  • Full, valid driving license and access to your own vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent
  • Qualification or accredited training in Mental Health, Substance Misuse, or Recovery Support

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve their own physical and mental well-being
  • Support the development of independent living skills, including budgeting, community engagement and access to services.
  • Encourage choice, control and active participation in decision-making.
  • Assess the wellbeing and welfare of people we support on an ongoing basis
  • Maintain professional boundaries and act in line with the Code of Conduct
  • Keep our service compliant with legal regulations
  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records in line with GDPR and organisational policies
  • Oversee your own caseload of key clients
  • Work with individuals to develop agreed, meaningful and achievable person centred plans with positive outcomes that meet the individual’s aspirations
  • Promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing
  • Ensure positive risk assessments are created and implemented in line with our policies and procedures
  • Signpost people we support, to other services for additional support
