About The Position

Waythrough was formed in 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Together, they have created one of the largest mental health and social support charities in England, supporting around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services with the help of 3,500 staff and volunteers. This role is at Princess Court, a 24-hour supported housing service for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, often with multiple and complex needs. The responsibilities may vary daily, focusing on supporting residents to achieve life goals, improve quality of life, develop independent living skills, and assist with the daily running of the service. The organization emphasizes treating each resident as a unique individual and ensuring a person-centered approach.

Requirements

  • 2-years experience of working in a mental health, complex needs or supported accommodation setting
  • Experience of facilitating therapeutic and coping strategies in relation to Mental Health well-being and crisis situations.
  • Experience of, and commitment to, promoting and implementing equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion for vulnerable people
  • Experience of working respectfully with individuals offering advice, guidance, and support on housing and appropriate tenancy related information
  • Experience of Housing Management practice and knowledge of Housing legislation & welfare benefit legislation
  • Experience of supporting individuals to maintain their own accommodation, including benefit advice, budgeting and life skills

Responsibilities

  • Support the people using our services to achieve their life goals and improve their quality of life
  • Work on both practical and emotional life skills towards independent living/ greater independence
  • Assist with the safe and successful daily running of the service including housing management related tasks
  • Work as part of a team towards agreed service/contract targets
  • Work as part of a team to provide a service in line with the organisation’s mission and values
  • Assist people using our services to manage and improve their own physical and mental well-being
  • Support the development of independent living skills, including budgeting, community engagement and access to services
  • Encourage choice, control and active participation in decision-making
  • Ensure the safe running of the service
  • Assess the wellbeing and welfare of people we support on an ongoing basis
  • Maintain professional boundaries and act in line with the Code of Conduct
  • Keep our service compliant with legal regulations
  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records in line with GDPR and organisational policies
  • Oversee your own caseload of key clients
  • Work with individuals to develop agreed, meaningful and achievable person-centered plans with positive outcomes that meet the individual’s aspirations
  • Promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing
  • Ensure positive risk assessments are created and implemented in line with our policies and procedures
  • Signpost people we support, to other services for additional support
  • Plan and carry out your core areas of responsibility
  • Complete accurate and timely computerized records via our database
  • Liaise with external agencies - such as community mental health teams, multi-disciplinary teams and carers - building relationships and projecting a positive image of the service
  • Effectively monitoring and managing your own wellbeing through debriefing and discussions with your manager and colleagues
  • Keep up to date with organisational developments
  • Contribute positively to team working, handovers and service delivery
