Recovery Support Technician
About The Position
The Recovery Support Technician transports program participants to and from locations such as court, medical appointments, meetings, groups, program activities, treatment, and other services deemed appropriate by staff. The primary responsibility is to provide participants with safe and secure transportation. The technician may also cover duties at the Recovery Community Center, including helping set up on-site events and monitoring day-to-day operations when needed. The role may include providing childcare and supporting facility operations in the absence of senior staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Must pass a background check and driver record check.
- Minimum of 1 year of sobriety.
Responsibilities
- Drive participants to and from meetings, groups, appointments, court, treatment, program activities, and other appropriate services.
- Provide a safe and secure ride for participants and monitor their behavior in the van.
- Maintain the van sign-in/sign-out log.
- Maintain operational control of the facility in the absence of senior staff.
- Ensure clients comply with Volunteers of America policies and rules.
- Monitor clients and their behavior in the facility.
- Complete required documentation.
- Attend training and supervision.
- Observe and report maintenance needs and safety hazards.
- Provide childcare.
- Help set up on-site events and monitor day-to-day Recovery Community Center operations when needed.
- Perform Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) duties as assigned by supervision and the PQI Committee.
