About The Position
Central State Hospital is seeking a full-time Recovery Services Specialist to join the Recovery Services team! This position will primarily work M-F, 8am-4:30pm but will rotate some evening and weekend hours. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
Requirements
- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- Must be willing to work some evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred (or equivalent experience.)
- 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Plans, schedules and conducts psychoeducational classes on recovery as assigned (e. g., medication side effects, ADL, communication skills, stress management strategies).
- Provides therapeutic support within the units and Recovery Center.
- Teaches and models healthy behaviors, consistent with the treatment/care goals of recovery.
- Contributes to safe and therapeutic environment by practicing verbal de-escalation and, as authorized, other behavior management techniques.
- Completes and maintains service documentation according to mandated standards.
- Communicates information relevant to care, treatment, and services, with other staff members.
- Assist with patient care duties and other activities as necessary.
