About The Position

Recovery Corps is seeking a Recovery Navigator to provide peer support to individuals working to maintain their progress in recovery. Navigators draw on their own recovery experience to mentor and support participants as they navigate resources, set goals, and develop recovery action plans. The role is based at an organization serving recovery communities and includes training in peer recovery support. Positions for the 2026–27 program year run from September 2026 through July 2027, with a 40-hour workweek during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, and time off on holidays. Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks. Stipend amounts and education awards are available on the organization’s careers page.

Requirements

By the start of service, have at least one uninterrupted year in recovery from a substance use disorder.
Be dependable and have a history of good attendance.
Be able to understand and follow instructions.
Be able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule based on the agreed-upon hours commitment.
Have basic computer skills, such as using email and navigating online.
Be fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
Successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

Foster strong relationships with participants.
Use personal recovery experience to provide mentoring and peer support.
Connect participants with social service resources and programs.
Track participants’ progress on recovery plans.
Participate in training and professional development throughout the year, including Peer Recovery Support training.
Share personal experience with the community.
