Recovery Coach (CSP)

Casa Esperanza•Tewksbury, MA
•$22 - $22•Onsite

About The Position

The Recovery Coach (RC) provides non-clinical services to help individuals and families establish and maintain recovery from addiction and mental illness, participate in recovery-oriented activities, and build networks of sober support. The RC helps patients access substance use disorder treatment, community resources, and recovery groups; identifies barriers to care; supports prospective patients through intake; and remains a source of support regardless of relapse. The coach serves as a motivator, ally, role model, and advocate, drawing on lived recovery experience when applicable and modeling recovery-oriented behaviors that respect each person’s perspective, preferences, self-determination, and treatment decisions. As part of Casa Esperanza, Inc., the Recovery Coach works independently and collaboratively within an integrated, multidisciplinary team. The Casa Community Support Program (CSP) addresses health-related social needs among people with substance use and co-occurring behavioral health disorders. Peer recovery coaching is nonclinical and nonmedical, while coordinating with primary care, mental health, and addiction treatment providers to support clients and avoid duplication or conflicting care. This is primarily an in-person, community-based position involving travel, transportation for patients, and office time; occasional work from home may be available.
