About The Position

Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals to advance its mission. As a not-for-profit, it supports patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. This full-time, 40-hr position is for a compassionate and motivated Recovery Coach to join an interdisciplinary team supporting patients in both Emergency Department and inpatient settings. The role involves working directly with individuals navigating substance use and recovery challenges, providing encouragement, advocacy, and connection to resources during critical moments of care. The Recovery Coach will help patients feel supported, heard, and empowered throughout their recovery journey. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while collaborating closely with nurses, physicians, social workers, behavioral health clinicians, and other members of the care team in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Sustained recovery experience 2-3 years required
  • Experience working with people with substance use disorders 3-5 years required
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients/families and staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills both one-on-one and in group situations.
  • Proficient in the use of office equipment and the computer Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain written records and reports.
  • Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and skill in the ability to safely and effectively operate standard.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree PSYCHOLOGY preferred
  • Recovery Coach NH State Certification - within 1yr. preferred
  • Certified Recovery Support Worker [CRSW - New Hampshire] - New Hampshire Board for Certification of Alcohol and Other Drug Use Professionals preferred
