The Recovery Aide assists clients and families within the behavioral health system to enhance their recovery and promote wellness, working under the guidance of Recovery Coaches to provide rehabilitation and support services. This role involves promoting a recovery-based approach, assisting the clinical team with service plans, and working directly with members on their recovery plans, including goal setting, identifying community resources, and crisis prevention. Recovery Aides provide support in various settings such as the community, client's home, office, or telephonically, and are responsible for consulting with and making referrals to other community agencies. Key duties include completing documentation, sharing personal recovery experiences (if certified) to mentor clients, communicating with the clinical team, providing crisis support, assisting with legal consents and benefit coaching, and transporting clients to appointments. The position also involves assessing hospitalized/crisis clients for discharge planning, performing welfare checks, and attending required training and meetings. A significant aspect of the role is coordinating all care and services to facilitate optimal physical and behavioral health wellness within a trauma-informed care framework, which includes facilitating communication between medical and behavioral health practitioners, assisting with preventative and specialty physical health interventions, integrating treatment, and educating on the interplay of physical and behavioral health.
