We are currently looking for full-time � Recovery Advocate Starting at $39,200 � $42,650, contingent upon experience, education, and other factors. Division Overview: Youth & Family Services (YFS) help parents and young people who are striving to become healthy and restore their relationships. This division works in partnership with human services, child welfare systems, juvenile courts, and community-based service providers so that together we can help individuals and families obtain the services and skills they need to live in positive, healthy ways.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience participating in their own personal recovery process in order to care for self and/or family member
  • Must have an understanding of and respect for an individual’s unique path to recovery
  • Must possess a demonstrated commitment to the recovery community
  • Good computers skills which include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the Internet
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Within one year of hire, will be required to obtain Certified Recovery Support Specialist certification (CRSS) through the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association.
  • Knowledge of community support resources, organizations, governmental agencies and nonprofits that provide direct client services: such as; housing, food assistance, government benefits programs, public insurance, education, and vocation and workforce development resources.

Responsibilities

  • Assists recovering persons to identify their personal interests, goals, strengths and weaknesses regarding recovery.
  • Evaluates, facilitates, and monitors individual’s progress in relationship to established goals and objectives.
  • Provides recovery education and coordinate services, resources and programs to assist clients in achieving their established service plan goals and objectives.
  • Documents progress on a monthly basis.
  • Ensures documentation and service hour goals are met on a regular basis.
  • Serves as a coach to assist the individual to transition from a professional directed service plan to a self-directed recovery plan.
  • Provides referrals for identified needs of the client and crisis intervention as needed
