About The Position

In this position you will be responsible for receiving, reviewing, and assigning all abuse reports received from the Florida Abuse Hotline. Additionally, you will follow up with the appropriate supervisory personnel to ensure they are aware of pending investigations and staff assignments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Clerical experience (Atleast 2 years preferred)
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
  • Knowledge of the methods for organizing and presenting data.
  • Ability to conduct meetings and to make presentations.
  • Ability to collect, record and analyze data relating to records or operational procedures.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to prepare reports.
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

  • Print and review all abuse reports received from the Hotline and OTI requests called in from other counties.
  • Follow up with the appropriate supervisory personnel to ensure they are aware of pending investigations and staff assignments.
  • Coordinate with the Florida Abuse Hotline Information system (FAHIS), Child Information System (CIS) and the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS).
  • Review appropriate databases for previous or open investigations and child family involvement with other family safety programs.
  • Provide clerical support for a multi-function Family Safety Unit.
  • Prepare intake case records for Child Protective Investigator for cases received over the Child Abuse Hotline.
  • Assign cases to CPI/CPI supervisor.
  • Package investigation information.
  • Conduct diligent searches.
  • Archive case files.
  • Maintain rotation and case logs.
  • Make case folders.
  • Assist with mail/closure letters.
