About The Position

Global Engineering and Technology (GET) is seeking a Records Manager with federal records management experience to serve as a Records Manager / Systems Specialist supporting DISA in Fort Meade, Maryland. This essential team member will lead the records management operation for a team of records and information analysts supporting DISA’s declassification program, in keeping with federal and Department of War (DOW) records and information management requirements. This position is contingent upon the successful award of a government contract currently pending. The anticipated start date for this role is mid-September 2026. Work is 100% on-site, primarily at the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) facility in Fort Meade, Maryland. Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance, OR a Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI eligibility, OR an active DOE Q security clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a field such as library science, information systems, business administration, public administration, management, or other closely related field and at least one (1) year of Federal records management experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of U.S. Federal Government records management policies along with their associated orders, regulations, and RIDS.
  • Federal records management experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Exceptional level of service and experience accompanied by demonstrable federal certifications (such as NARA’s Agency Records Officer Credential or Certificate of Federal Records Management Training) and independent industry certifications (such as the Certified Records Manager designation or Government Archives and Records Administration certificate) may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, controls, directs, organizes, trains, promotes, and executes activities involved in records creation, records maintenance and use, and records disposition to achieve adequate and proper execution of the Records and Information Management (RIM) program.
  • Develops office policies and procedures for managing records, as well as creating and maintaining a filing system of classified and unclassified records.
  • Serves as the primary liaison to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and coordinates the legal transfer of permanent records and the authorized destruction of temporary records in accordance with federal schedules.
  • Oversees and continuously improves an electronic document system that meets DISA and NARA records management requirements and maintains filing systems that allow for the easy retrieval of records when needed.
  • Coordinates with IT staff to create or improve upon electronic records systems that can be easily accessed by authorized personnel, digitizing records, and managing and keeping up to date with the organization's essential records plan.
  • Ensures the Records Inventory and Disposition Schedule (RIDS) meets NARA federal records management requirements and is kept up to date and followed.
