Requirements

Proficiency in clerical procedures and systems
Proficiency in word processing, file management, and recordkeeping
Exceptional time management skills
Solid grasp of the English language, including spelling, grammar, and composition rules
Familiarity with key software applications—such as Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Gov QA, and Windows XL
Strong interpersonal skills
Must pass a thorough criminal background check

Responsibilities

Typing comprehensive reports—such as offense reports, affidavits, and complaints
Preparing thorough defendant folders containing essential documents like arrest reports, rap sheets, and fingerprints
Providing copies of reports to the public
Issuing receipts
Processing payments
Managing the flow of incoming visitors to the police department
Handling daily filing and logging of reports
Addressing telephone inquiries for limited information from both the public and law enforcement agencies
