About The Position

Alert Disaster Restoration is seeking an experienced Reconstruction Claims Adjuster to manage insurance claims from start to finish. This role involves coordinating accurate scopes of work, negotiating approvals with insurance carriers and independent adjusters, and supporting Project Supervisors in delivering successful reconstruction projects. The position is critical to the reconstruction operation, directly impacting cash flow, cycle time, gross profit, and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on, in-person role for someone with knowledge of property claims and construction, who thrives on accountability, negotiation, and results. It is an internal, in-office role focused on driving claim approvals to support reconstruction projects, and does not require a licensed insurance adjuster license.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of property insurance claims adjusting experience, including large loss claims
  • Strong construction knowledge
  • Highly skilled in Xactimate
  • Proven experience negotiating with carrier and independent adjusters
  • Proficiency with claims management systems and multitasking across platforms
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Customer focused mindset with strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications a plus: Xactimate Certified, AIC, CPCU, IICRC or related industry credentials

Responsibilities

  • Receive and review documentation from internal departments for completed or required work.
  • Ensure claim files are complete, accurate, and submission ready.
  • Maintain detailed claim records in the claims management system.
  • Assess property damages using industry standards and company guidelines.
  • Write and/or coordinate accurate scopes of work aligned with field conditions.
  • Ensure estimates support both carrier requirements and company gross profit standards.
  • Negotiate claim approvals, supplements, and settlements with carrier and independent adjusters.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and persistently to resolve claims efficiently.
  • Drive timely decisions and approvals within established authority.
  • Collaborate with Project Supervisors to keep reconstruction projects on schedule.
  • Support reconstruction sales and execution through strong claim positioning.
  • Escalate complex or high value claims when appropriate.
  • Provide responsive, professional, and empathetic service to policyholders, adjusters, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide updates, guidance, and clarity throughout the claims process.
