About The Position

Spokane Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors. If you enjoy providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment, we'd love to meet you! The Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming experience for our patients while supporting the clinical team through efficient scheduling, communication, and administrative duties. This position requires excellent customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask while maintaining confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous medical office or healthcare receptionist experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office; experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, families, physicians, and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and surgical procedures.
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Collect required patient forms and ensure documentation is complete.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians' offices, patients, and surgery center staff.
  • Process incoming and outgoing correspondence, faxes, and medical records requests.
  • Maintain the reception area in a clean, organized, and welcoming manner.
  • Assist with administrative projects and other duties as assigned.
