About The Position

Hospice of South Texas is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, visitors, vendors, and employees. This position plays a vital role in supporting daily office operations by managing incoming communications, welcoming guests, providing administrative support, and ensuring a professional and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of administrative, receptionist, or customer service experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare, hospice, home health, or medical office experience.
  • Experience working with multi-line telephone systems.
  • Experience with office equipment and administrative support functions.

Responsibilities

  • Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls using a multi-line phone system.
  • Greet and assist visitors, patients, families, vendors, and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Receive, document, and distribute messages and correspondence to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare admission, orientation, and new hire packets and other organizational materials.
  • Provide clerical support including filing, copying, scanning, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Monitor and maintain office, kitchen, and operational supply inventories; place orders as needed.
  • Support department leadership with administrative tasks, recordkeeping, and data tracking.
  • Maintain licensure, certification, compliance, and other organizational tracking records.
  • Assist with employee engagement activities, communications, and event coordination.
  • Coordinate uniform orders and maintain employee uniform inventory.
  • Schedule and maintain conference room and meeting space calendars.
  • Operate and maintain office equipment, including badge-making systems, postage meters, and copiers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
  • Protect confidential patient, employee, and organizational information.
  • Promote positive communication and exceptional customer service with all internal and external customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
