About The Position

This position greets customers and provides information, direction, and assistance. Acts as concierge to meet specific needs of visitors. Screens all guests that enter the Hospice House via the front door.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of reading, writing, mathematical and computer skills as normally acquired through completion of high school.
  • Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Mandatory tuberculosis (TB) testing must be done annually.
  • Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
  • Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 0-10 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical office practices and procedures as normally acquired through 1-year experience working in the medical center or similar setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greets guests, visitors, clergy, florists, vendors, and business people by providing information, direction, and assistance.
  • Answers the telephone in a pleasant tone. Provides accurate information with regard to Hospice House policy while maintaining confidentiality. Assist with tasks to support Homecare.
  • Assists patient families. Provides directions to restaurants, stores, and public facilities in the area.
  • Acts as a concierge to help meet special needs of visitors.
