The receptionist will maintain physician's daily schedules, prepare charts, and edit clinician schedules for time off. Additional responsibilities include processing cancellations and no-show appointments, managing incoming mail, and coordinating patient check-out, follow-up appointments, and referrals for laboratory, radiology, and other specialists. The position also entails preparing associated forms, maintaining patient records by scanning documents into the EMR, and referring billing inquiries to the appropriate office. Confidentiality of patient information according to HIPAA regulations is paramount. The role requires effective communication with co-workers, patients, and visitors, maintaining harmonious relations, and adapting to unexpected changes in patient volumes or staff absences. Attendance at departmental meetings and the ability to float to other MACC practices are also required.
