About The Position

This position pays $17.00-$20.00 per hour. The Receptionist provides clerical support for Anderson Administration. Duties and responsibilities include serving as a receptionist and switchboard operator, providing information and guidance to callers, visitors, students, faculty, and staff. The role also provides administrative support for the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Student Success, including filing, document preparation, computerized reports, and other assigned activities. The position requires adherence to confidential information policies, serving as a message liaison, organizing the reception area, and following all college policies and procedures. Additional duties involve assisting with special events, meetings, maintaining supply inventory, troubleshooting office equipment, providing clerical support, coordinating communication between faculty and staff, contacting Security for safety concerns, and serving as backup support for other reception areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Good typing and computer skills – Microsoft Office software package
  • Excellent organizational, communications, human relations, and self-directed work skills within a team environment
  • Knowledge of switchboard operations and telephone etiquette

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years administrative support experience
  • Associate or bachelor degree

Responsibilities

  • Receptionist and switchboard operator providing information and guidance to callers, visitors, students, faculty and staff
  • Provides administrative support for Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Student success including filing, document preparation, computerized reports, projects and other activities as assigned
  • Follow confidential information policies and standards
  • Message liaison between faculty and students as needed
  • Serve on committees as assigned
  • Organize reception area for next day’s operation
  • Follow all college policies and procedures
  • Assist with special events, meetings and maintain supply inventory
  • Assist/troubleshoot copiers, postage machine, fax machine and phones
  • Provide clerical support and assist with activities as assigned
  • Coordinate communication between daytime and evening faculty and staff
  • Responsible for contacting Security for student and employee safety concerns
  • Serve as backup support for faculty area receptionist or for special needs
