About The Position

The Receptionist position at Breckinridge Primary Care is responsible for managing patient appointments, greeting and registering patients, and handling administrative tasks related to patient care and billing. This role involves significant patient interaction, data entry, and coordination with medical staff. The receptionist will also float to other offices as needed and perform other duties assigned by the clinic office manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • At least 1 year of experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Books, coordinates, and reschedules patient appointments.
  • Greets and registers patients promptly and helpfully, providing necessary instructions.
  • Uses the computer system to generate information for billing, IDs, Medicaid, DOB, and insurance cards.
  • Updates patient information, collects co-pays, provides necessary forms, obtains signatures, and posts payments.
  • Verifies necessary information and records it in the medical record.
  • Maintains and updates provider and diagnostic schedules, confirming appointments.
  • Answers the telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information with a pleasant attitude.
  • Answers questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
  • Oversees the waiting area, coordinates patient movement, and reports problems.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Floats to cover other offices as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the clinic office manager.
