About The Position

PARC Retirement Living is seeking a Receptionist to join their PARC Resident Services team at Cedar Springs PARC. This role is crucial as the communication hub of the community, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere and embodying the company's values. The receptionist will perform various administrative and support services, handle resident and visitor inquiries, manage schedules, process invoices, respond to emergencies, assist with programs and events, and support other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • At least two years of reception experience in a similar environment, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Consistently professional and courteous; able to interact tactfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Handle high-stress situations calmly, and are comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptionally strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications, along with WHMIS.
  • Understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and the professionals engaged in their care.
  • Criminal Record Check and a TB test within the first month of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of other accounting, publishing and graphics software, such as Canva.
  • FOODSAFE certification.

Responsibilities

  • Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere by greeting residents and visitors.
  • Performing a variety of administrative and support services in a professional, courteous, efficient and organized manner.
  • Answering phone calls and responding to requests from residents and visitors – along with other reception duties such as answering resident inquiries, receiving deliveries and organizing service requests.
  • Managing the residence driver’s schedule and handling any booking conflicts.
  • Scanning payable invoices and submitting them to appropriate managers for approval.
  • Responding to emergency calls and assisting with security issues.
  • Assisting with recreation programs and events.
  • Supporting Food Service, Housekeeping and other departments as requested.
