About The Position

The Receptionist is responsible for managing the telephone and switchboard, assisting visitors upon arrival, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and performing other clerical duties as assigned. This role requires excellent customer service skills, awareness of the environment, and the ability to handle various administrative tasks efficiently and confidentially.

Responsibilities

  • Operate paging/telephone system as required, answering calls timely and courteously, and directing calls promptly and accurately.
  • Greet visitors upon entry to the facility courteously, assist them by giving directions or contacting the person they have come to visit, and ensure all visitors/vendors sign in.
  • Demonstrate customer service skills in every interaction via phone or in person, greeting people effectively, and offering assistance.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, demonstrating awareness of the environment and focusing attention on the front entrance.
  • Perform other clerical duties as assigned, including assisting the administrator or others with special tasks or projects, handling mail and filing as needed, and preparing informational packets, brochures, etc.
  • Assist with administrative duties as directed, such as filing, posting accounts, and data entry.
  • Order supplies as directed.
  • Attend in-service education programs to meet facility educational requirements.
  • Be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures and know how to use the information.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/information.
  • Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse.
  • Protect the personal property of the residents of the facility.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor or administrator.
