About The Position

Serves as the club’s first point of contact, greeting members and guests and providing a positive hospitality experience. Manages incoming calls, takes messages, and maintains online and phone dining reservations. Coordinates seating, dining room assignments, and performs hostess duties, including escorting guests to dining and bar areas. Requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills to ensure a seamless member and guest experience from arrival to departure.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills and an open, courteous and friendly personality required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have working knowledge using and programming multi-line telephone networks and reservation systems.
  • Must be able to type and efficiently (at least 50 wpm}, use word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail programs.
  • Must be able to efficiently handle multiple tasks concurrently while meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks and providing excellent member service.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated customer service and strong communication skills (phone and in-person).
  • Strong organizational skills; able to oversee dining and bar areas.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and treat others with respect.
  • Ability to multitask, perform basic math, and maintain attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • prior Host/Hostess experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of restaurant etiquette and reservation management.
  • Flexible availability, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and transfer telephone calls; take messages for staff and members.
  • Accept, record, and manage dining reservations; communicate with staff as needed.
  • Greet members and guests; provide club schedules, information, and general assistance.
  • Sort, distribute, and post incoming and outgoing mail (including overnight services).
  • Maintain and update club information materials (flyers, digital signage).
  • Perform general office duties: word processing, filing, copying, and scanning.
  • Maintain supply inventories for reception and offices.
  • Monitor and report unauthorized visitors; help enforce member attire guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain front desk, lobby, and common areas; control traffic flow and lobby music.
  • Manage “lost and found.”
  • Perform other duties as required by the manager on duty.
  • Manage dining reservations and take phone orders for take-out.
  • Greet and escort members and guests to dining and bar areas.
  • Provide menus and introduce the server.
  • Attend to special requests and monitor member/guest needs throughout their visit.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to member/guest inquiries.
