About The Position

As a Clinic Clerk, you will be the welcoming face and organizational hub of our clinic, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for every patient. Every day, you will expertly manage patient registration and scheduling, efficiently process patient flow, address billing inquiries, and provide essential clerical support. You'll maintain strict confidentiality, handle financial transactions securely, and remain vigilant for any patient needs, all while contributing to a smooth, on-schedule operation. To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional organizational skills, a customer-centric approach, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive ability to manage a fast-paced environment while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Completion of a medical terminology class or equivalent work experience, upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Previous clerical experience in a medical setting, including telephone and typing skills, or other medical billing experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient registration and scheduling.
  • Process patient flow.
  • Address billing inquiries.
  • Provide essential clerical support.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Handle financial transactions securely.
  • Attend to patient needs.
  • Contribute to a smooth, on-schedule operation.
  • Obtain required authorizations for all exams upon scheduling and/or registering.
  • Process TARs when necessary.
  • Enter the correct order under the order entry module.
  • Ensure that all orders have correlating diagnoses.
  • Notify the technologists of phone report exams and STAT cases.
  • Accept payments and set up payment arrangement contracts.
  • Process all subpoenas and requests from insurance companies, attorneys and attorney services.
  • Greet people professionally.
  • Use professional telephone techniques.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Schedule appointments on seven different modalities of Imaging Services.
  • Educate patients with instructions and preparation material concerning the exam.
  • Comply with safety, infection control, Dignity Health Integrity Program, and other organizational policies.
  • Comply with the organization's dress code.
  • Arrive at work on time.
  • Attend work consistently.
  • Follow all hospital policies on credit card handling procedures.
  • Treat all credit card information as HIPAA protected and confidential.
  • Access only a single credit card payment at a time.
