The Receiving Team Member is responsible for handling incoming shipments, verifying inventory accuracy, and inspecting products for damage. Key responsibilities include unloading delivery trucks, comparing packing slips to purchase orders, and updating stock records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent - Required
  • Previous experience in logistics, warehouse, or other related field - Required
  • Experience with multiple hand and power tools including saws - Required
  • Time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines - Required
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization - Required
  • Ability to work professionally with others - Required
  • Strong problem-solving skills - Required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Required
  • Effective organizational, planning and prioritization skills - Required

Responsibilities

  • Accept incoming freight from delivery trucks using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork for incoming inventory.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage.
  • Report missing or broken items to manager.
  • Place incoming products onto shelves, racks or in designated warehouse zones maintaining organization.
  • Drives forklift safely, according to all applicable laws.
  • Coordinate distribution process with various departments.
  • Monitor freight movement using various computer software applications.
  • Assists with material handling and truck loading when needed.
  • May use various types of hand tools and power tools.
  • Continuously works in a manner to ensure safety of self and others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
