About The Position

The Receiving Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the efficient and accurate receipt of goods and materials within a warehouse. This position ensures that all incoming shipments are inspected, documented, and processed in compliance with company policies and safety standards. The Receiving Supervisor leads a team of receivers, coordinating daily activities to maintain smooth operations and timely inventory updates. This role requires close collaboration with purchasing and inventory teams to resolve discrepancies and optimize workflow. Ultimately, the Receiving Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the receiving process, contributing to overall supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Willingness to participate in pre-employment and random drug screenings
  • 2+ years related experience
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to safely drive a forklift
  • Ability to work in excessively hot and cold conditions due to outside environment of the warehouse
  • OSHA regulated Steel Toe Shoes: Either an ASTM F243 M/I/50/C/50 or ANSI Z41 PT M/I/50/50. Or an ASTM F2413 F/I/50/C/50 or ANSI Z41 PT F/I/50/C/50

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a high level of customer service is always provided
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable receiving team
  • Utilize knowledge of receiving best practices to implement procedures and train staff
  • Develop team specific roles and daily tasks, and evaluate work performance
  • Oversee incoming shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments, and report any issues to suppliers and management
  • Ensure proper documentation of received goods, including invoices, purchase orders, and packing lists, and verify actual shipments
  • Collaborate with purchasing and sales departments to ensure timely receipt of orders and alignment with customer needs
  • Maintain communication with suppliers to track shipments and resolve any logistical problems
  • Ensure that received materials are placed and organized correctly, and determine organizational sequences
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
  • Transfer materials from storage or work sites to the designated area by hand or using a hand truck, electric dolly, or forklift
  • Maintain and compile records as required including the record of inventory
  • Maintain a clean/orderly warehouse and yard
  • Perform other various duties, as outlined by supervisor
