About The Position

Gourmet Foods International is seeking a motivated and hands-on Receiving Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the Receiving Department. This position is responsible for supervising team members, ensuring accurate and efficient receiving processes, maintaining inventory integrity, and promoting a safe, organized, and productive work environment. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment and is committed to operational excellence, food safety, and employee development.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of warehouse supervisory experience
  • Forklift experience and the ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently while leading a team
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, carry up to 50 pounds, and push or pull up to 30 pounds of force
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments for extended periods
  • Consistent, regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
  • Employees must be able to work scheduled shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed to support business and operational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in food distribution, cold storage, or warehouse operations
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Inventory control or receiving experience
  • Previous experience training or mentoring warehouse employees
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Receiving Department
  • Ensure all receiving procedures are followed accurately and efficiently
  • Monitor inbound shipments to verify product accuracy, quality, and documentation
  • Lead, coach, and support receiving team members to meet productivity and performance expectations
  • Schedule work assignments and monitor daily labor hours, including overtime
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper receiving, documentation, and communication with warehouse teams
  • Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and prepared for the next shift
  • Promote and enforce warehouse safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain the safety, quality, and legality of food products
  • Collaborate with Warehouse, Inventory Control, Transportation, and Operations teams to support daily business objectives
  • Assist with problem resolution and continuous process improvement initiatives
