We see this as one of our greatest strengths - and your role is key to helping us build on it. As a Shipping & Receiving Associate at Vital Farms, you will... You will work within our state-of-the-art manufacturing and production facility to load and unload our pasture-raised eggs from our family farms. This role at Egg Central Station (ECS) is critical in bridging the gap from local family farms to grocery stores for our consumers. You’ll be on your feet during each twelve-hour shift, moving, lifting, loading and working with air-conditioned and sunlight-filled warehouse. 2-2-3 schedule: 2-week cycle Week 1: 2 days on / 2 days off / 3 days on Week 2: 2 days off / 2 days on / 3 days off Shifts: 12-hour shifts Day Crew – 7am to 7pm Night Crew - 7pm to 7am Pay Rate: Day Crew- $20.25 per hour Night Crew - $20.25 per hour (+ $3.00 Shift Differential)

Requirements

  • 1 year of shipping and receiving experience
  • Certified to operate a forklift or pallet jack
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English for safety reasons
  • Able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch for extended periods of time
  • Good manual dexterity working with hands to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Able to frequently lift and / or move up to 60 pounds
  • Able to work safely in an environment when exposed to wet conditions
  • Follow all personal safety and food safety requirements rigorously

Responsibilities

  • Receiving various orders, including eggs, paper goods, and materials using electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and scanners for efficiency
  • Loading trucks to ship orders to distribution centers and/or grocery retailers
  • Organizing our finished goods area to accommodate the FIFO method of goods
  • Using DSI scanning system to monitor movement of finished goods
  • Creating an excellent customer experience for our drivers
  • Building pallets as needed for orders
  • Reading and understanding bill of ladings and sales orders to ensure efficient product movement
  • Ensuring work area is clean and free of any hazards
