About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory control role.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items safely, typically up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The Receiving Specialist uses attention to detail daily to verify shipment contents and identify discrepancies, ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Organizational skills are essential for managing documentation and maintaining an orderly receiving area.
  • Communication skills facilitate effective collaboration with suppliers and internal departments to resolve issues promptly.
  • Physical stamina and safe material handling techniques are applied regularly to unload and move shipments efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate departments.
  • Accurately document received items in inventory management systems and update records accordingly.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of received materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area while adhering to safety and compliance standards.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve delivery or quality issues.
  • Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits as needed to support inventory accuracy.
