Job Purpose The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming shipments, verifying accuracy, and ensuring materials and products are received, documented, and stored properly. This role supports inventory accuracy, maintains organized records, and helps ensure efficient warehouse and production operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of receiving, warehouse, or inventory control experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills; experience with ERP or inventory systems is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift/move materials (typically up to 50 lbs) and operate warehouse equipment if needed
  • Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting throughout the shift
  • Must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements.
  • Certain vehicles may also require a specific drivers license and have additional driving requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists
  • Unload deliveries and ensure proper handling of materials
  • Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrect items
  • Accurately enter receipt information into inventory or ERP systems
  • Label, organize, and store items in designated warehouse locations
  • Coordinate with purchasing, inventory, and production teams regarding discrepancies or urgent needs
  • Maintain organized records of all receiving documentation
  • Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company procedures
  • Prepare materials for internal distribution or staging for production
