About The Position

The Receiving Coordinator will support department supervisors with their respective roles, including the return of freight back to vendors, and supporting and reaching out to vendors and the purchasing team to get shipment details when vendors forget to provide Carnival details. This role will also reach out to ships for Amazon shipments and support vice versa when ships reach for their due shipments. The role involves supporting the movement of freight using a forklift, reach truck, and pallet jack. Additionally, it includes logging and tracking shipments being sent back to the mailroom for return to vendor, maintaining a vendor access list for respective homeports, and reviewing large shipments that may require a loading plan from the ship. This position will also assist with truck ordering of temperature-controlled trailers (frozen and chilled).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bi-lingual with ability to speak and write English and Spanish.
  • Great communication skills and open minded for new ideas.
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years related experience or training in warehouse operations or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of keeping track and logging of orders to support reverse logistics.
  • Knowledge in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Able and certified to operate a forklift.
  • Understanding movements over the road or via air.
  • Having worked in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Having the knowledge of how to operate different types of forklifts, pallet jacks.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
  • Able to safely operate different equipment to move freight.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve shipments that arrive with no paperwork or missing important details like ship’s name, PO number, department name, including Amazon shipments.
  • Use program created to log and process these shipments using RF gun to generate labels for shipping.
  • Act as liaison between corporate port operations and warehouse for destination ports and multiple service providers.
  • Process return to vendor freight via mailroom and other logistic partners.
  • Generate digital record via Excel for mailroom deliveries for record keeping.
  • Monitor and complete vendor access lists for homeports.
  • Communicate with all homeports and share the list needed for drivers to gain access to the port.
  • Support port security and port agents by providing the vendor access list.
  • Review container and airfreight pre-alerts for bulk shipments and overweight, oversized items.
  • Prepare pallet counts for frozen / chilled food consolidations and order trailers.
  • Pull report for total value of product to understand how many delivery units will need to be ordered.
  • Order frozen/chill units on a daily basis.
