About The Position

At Maxcess Tidland, we develop and build the industry's most effective winding and slitting systems that are durable, designed for ease-of-use and engineered for reliable, long-lasting operation. We are hiring for a Receiving Clerk to join our productive team in Camas Washington! This role involves utilizing computer software to receive inventory, issue parts/stock items, and maintain inventory of the Stores area. The Receiving Clerk is also responsible for building crates for shipping product and operating a forklift and overhead cranes.

Requirements

  • Maxcess-Tidland is a Lean manufacturing shop; and, as such, requires flexibility, problem-solving, teamwork and process ownership from all employees.
  • Requires the understanding of shop mathematics
  • Computer literacy required with MS Office and Windows.
  • Experience with hand or power tools (i.e. saw, drill, etc)
  • Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of operations and processes within the limitations of established or standard methods and procedures.
  • Constant alertness and continuous mental and visual attention required when working with all tools powered or otherwise.
  • Requires attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers, vendors and team members.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to be certified for operating forklift.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, or Oracle) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Receive inventory, issuing of all parts/manufactured stock items, and tool room supplies.
  • Pull units and parts orders, package and label per established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of part and no-part numbered items, issue for finished goods inventory.
  • Maintain adequate supply of lumber and other packaging materials.
  • Process cycle counts and determine root cause for any inventory discrepancies.
  • Assist in pre-counts for periodic and annual physical inventory processes.
  • Assemble materials and package product for all shapes and sizes in various formats for shipping to customers and external suppliers.
  • Attach identification labels or stencils containing such information as shipping destination, weight and type of product enclosed.
  • Maintain equipment or has equipment maintained; includes sharpening blades.
  • Operate forklift (upon certification) for the purpose of loading and unloading incoming and outgoing trucks.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes when needed to perform similar processes as required.
  • Backup for Shipping Clerk.
  • Assist in other areas of manufacturing shop as required.
  • Perform work station maintenance by keeping a clean and neat work area. Notify supervisor of any equipment defects.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times following established policies and procedures.
