About The Position

Responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operations in the Receiving Division of the Finance Department. This role involves receiving shipments, coordinating workflow for timely supply delivery, maintaining knowledge of various product specifications, and ensuring shipments are in good condition. The Receiving Clerk cooperates with accounts payable, prepares shipments, resolves receiving disputes, and attaches necessary documentation to purchase orders. This position also facilitates information flow through departmental meetings, maintains storage areas, and is accountable for the accuracy and confidentiality of departmental records. Specific duties include verifying food and beverage deliveries against corporate specifications, ensuring proper storage and rotation of products, assisting marketing with promotional giveaways, and maintaining inventories at remote warehouses. The role requires operating a forklift, pallet jacks, and driving a box truck, as well as maintaining department vehicles. The Receiving Clerk is also responsible for preparing orders for shipment, ensuring quality control, and delivering interoffice mail, food, promotional items, and equipment via commercial vehicle. The position promotes an atmosphere of fun for casino guests and encourages mutual respect, dignity, and integrity among employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Must possess effective communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Prior warehouse and receiving experience preferred.
  • Chauffeur’s License is mandatory.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
  • This position requires a Level 4 Gaming License.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
  • Applicant must successfully complete screening for essential job functions including a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

  • Receives shipments and coordinates workflow to ensure timely delivery of supplies to all departments.
  • Maintains a thorough, working knowledge of dry goods, paper products, chemical supplies, and food and beverage specifications.
  • Ensures that all shipments are received in good, undamaged condition.
  • Cooperates with accounts payable employees in the verification of orders received.
  • Prepares boxes for shipment and prepares shipments as needed.
  • Conducts the necessary research to effectively resolve receiving disputes.
  • Attaches the invoice to purchase order and indicates the quantity received, number of boxes, date received, invoice number, and any other pertinent information.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property, by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Maintains storage areas with respect to sanitation, temperature, and humidity.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Verifies all food and beverage deliveries upon arrival for correct corporate specification.
  • Ensures all products are received and placed immediately under refrigeration or other storage (including freezing and dry storage) as needed.
  • Ensures products are stored and dated properly, and rotated using FIFO method.
  • Responsible for assisting marketing with promotional giveaway and maintaining accurate inventories at remote warehouse locations.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift, electric and manual pallet jack and drive a box truck.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safe operation of all department vehicles.
  • Prepares orders for shipment and ensure quality control.
  • Performs delivery of interoffice mail, food, promotional items, and equipment with commercial vehicle.
