About The Position

The Receiving Associate 1 is responsible for accurately inspecting, verifying and documenting inbound raw materials and packaging supplies to ensure compliance with food safety, quality and temperature standards. This position supports daily receiving operations and contributes to maintaining an efficient workflow aligned with the production schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior warehouse, shipping, receiving, or manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Basic math, reading, and communication skills required.
  • Ability to use computers, scanners, or shipping software preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; lift, carry, push and pull materials up to fifty (50) pounds (with or without assistance); bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and twist frequently; use hands and arms for grasping, handling, and operating shipping equipment; perform repetitive motions; climb ladders or stairs as needed; read labels and shipping documents; and work in varying warehouse temperatures, noise levels, and fast-paced conditions while maintaining safe work practices.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment (training may be provided).
  • Ability to load/unload trucks.
  • Manual dexterity for scanning, labeling, and packaging.
  • Ability to meet productivity standards and deadlines.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal team

Responsibilities

  • Works to learn proper use of Business Central, computer systems and hand scanners.
  • Works alongside quality control and warehouse technicians.
  • Unload inbound and customer return shipments safely using approved equipment, stage product in designated areas (i.e. not received, QC hold, ready to put away), and assist QC with truck and product inspections.
  • Verify shipments according to standard procedures before accepting (BOL, packing slip, returns, and POS).
  • Completes processing procedures.
  • Scan items using handheld scanners.
  • Print and properly apply labels to all incoming products.
  • Perform basic label verification (item + quantity match).
  • Properly and safely places product on pallet according to specifications.
  • Assist with bin put away (i.e. follows bin assignments).
  • Follow FIFO (Place newer product after existing stock).
  • Report damages, shortages, or discrepancies immediately.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in warehouses and follows all safety rules.
  • Work in other departments as needed.
  • Completes sales returns from customers in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Obtain Forklift/Man-lift certification and properly and safely utilizes the equipment.

  • This role requires strong attention to detail and strict adherence to all warehouse safety procedures and guidelines, including maintaining clean and organized aisles, docks, and emergency exits.
  • It involves the consistent use of proper lifting techniques to prevent injury and support a safe working environment.
  • The position also requires promptly identifying and reporting any unsafe conditions to ensure hazards are addressed immediately.
