About The Position

As Receiver for our Operations team, in this hands-on role you will organize and facilitate the receiving, quality checking, and storage of incoming and outbound products that are some of the most interesting, exciting, and fun specialty produce. It’s one of the most important jobs in our company! This fast-paced role is for people who are collaborative, energetic, and upbeat! Your primary focus will be unloading/supervising the unloading of trucks and verifying that the product counts match quantities on bills of lading invoices. You’ll become an expert in handling fresh fruits and vegetables. You’ll also follow company protocols and procedures when it comes to checking and documenting quality and condition on each lot of each shipment, marking count discrepancies and quality or condition problems on all bills of lading or invoices. Order fulfillment (properly loading outbound customer orders on trucks and processing paperwork) is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

  • Physically break down and restack pallets of product.
  • Determine the quality of products.
  • Adjust/receive in the computer system.
  • Ensure that product count matches invoice amounts.
  • Eligibility to Work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Proficiency with using computers (Windows, Excel, Word)

Responsibilities

  • Unload/supervise the unloading of trucks and verify that product counts match quantities on bills of lading invoices.
  • Handle fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Follow company protocols and procedures when it comes to checking and documenting quality and condition on each lot of each shipment.
  • Mark count discrepancies and quality or condition problems on all bills of lading or invoices.
  • Load outbound customer orders on trucks and process paperwork.
  • Separate merchandise according to shipper, item, size, color, lot, etc.
  • Report product quality and condition issues to sales or buyers by phone or email.
  • File company receiving reports as needed.
  • Adjust quantities and receive lots in the computer.
  • Follow established company procedures for proper product put away in appropriate locations in the warehouse (ex: coolers and storage areas).
  • Rotate existing stock in coolers when putting away.
  • Write Return tickets for merchandise returned by customers.
  • Assign and direct other selectors or staff members to assist in unloading, product put away or lot rotation.
  • Assist with customer order selection or picking as needed.
