About The Position

The Receiver is responsible for the accurate unloading of trailers of incoming merchandise. The Receiver counts and palletizes all cartons by style and purchase order number and completes all paperwork involved with the process. Other duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to: Essential Job Functions Include: Utilize Scan, Norand, and/or terminals to perform work assignments. Unload trailers by pallet using a forklift, by hand sorting and stacking each carton or by other methods as required. Ability to grasp, lift and move cartons/pallets weighing up to 100 pounds. Ability to withstand significant temperature changes on a trailer (cold, hot, depending on season) while lifting cartons onto pallets. Identify and separate cartons by purchase order number and style while stacking the cartons onto pallets. Must open one carton on each purchase order to verify proper routing. Must possess physical dexterity to operate all labeling equipment, box cutters or other tools to open cartons, label pallets and reseal cartons. Ability to read and complete all required paperwork with information concerning style separation, pallet location and freight carrier overages, shortages, and damages. Wrap strapping tape around the outside of the cartons to secure the pallet and prevent possible safety hazards. Ability to perform under an incentive-based rewards program maintaining a minimum of 92% performance. Ability to maintain a minimum accuracy performance of 99.8% according to accuracy control standards. General Job Functions Include: Ability to communicate with Supervisor and co-workers. Ability to use a calculator and perform basic mathematical skills. Use Kiosk to print required documents. Ability to capture and record information on Indirect Logs. Ability to twist and bend for extended periods of time. Ability to stand and/or walk on a concrete floor for the required hours of the shift, which includes breaks. Ability to operate a pallet jack and ultimately pull or push pallets weighing up to 1500 pounds. Clean, sweep, vacuum, and organize work area daily. Ability to work overtime as required. Perform other duties and work in other areas as assigned by area supervisor.
