About The Position

The Receiver is responsible for maintaining proper housekeeping of the warehouse, greeting and communicating with shipping vendors, and verifying incoming shipments and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and condition. This role also involves processing incoming COD shipments and purchase orders, investigating receiving discrepancies, and virtually and physically transferring incoming shipments. The Receiver will label incoming product, ensure like items are stored together, and load/unload trucks based on FIFO methodology. Additionally, they will arrange immediate delivery of urgent materials and assist Material Handlers as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years’ experience in a warehouse environment
  • Basic knowledge of data entry in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to work at heights of up to 20 feet
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and apply them to daily activities
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, sit, and ladder-climb for more than 1 hour at a time
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to push-pull a maximum of 1200 lbs. with a manual rolling assist
  • Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus

Responsibilities

  • Process incoming COD shipments and purchase orders to assure vendor payment
  • Investigate receiving discrepancies
  • Virtually and physically transfer incoming shipments from receiving to the next appropriate step in the inventory, maintenance or manufacturing process
  • Label incoming product with required information for proper identification
  • Assure all like items are stored together
  • Load/Unload trucks and process incoming shipments based on FIFO methodology
  • Arrange immediate delivery of urgent materials to Quality or Production Departments
  • Assist Material Handlers as needed
