About The Position

Interstate Waste Services is seeking experienced CDL B Rear Load Truck Drivers for their Sloatsburg, NY location. This is a Monday-Friday position with hourly pay of $25. The company is a progressive and innovative provider of solid waste and recycling services, serving Northern New Jersey, Southern New York State, New York City, and recently expanded into Pennsylvania and Ohio. Requirements

21 Years of Age & Legally Eligible to Work in the United States
Valid Class A or B CDL
Airbrake Endorsement
1-year CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
Great Safety Record and Clean MVR
Ability to Speak & Read English to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic & signals, respond to official questions & make legible entries on reports & records
Ability to Read & Understand a Map
Meet Physical & Safety Requirements of the Position.
Willing & Able to Work Required Worked Hours as Allowed Under DOT Regulation & May Include Weekend, Night &/Or Holiday Work

Nice To Haves

Experience as a Driver or Helper for a Refuge Company is Highly Preferred
Working Knowledge of DOT, OSHA & Applicable Traffic Regulations

Responsibilities

Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for the pick-up service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material.
Transport material to a disposal, transfer, or recycle facility, potentially making multiple trips per shift.
Perform driver pre and post inspections to ensure truck compliance with safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.
Navigate through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.
Climb in and out of the truck cab multiple times per route to service customer accounts.
Perform highly skilled backing maneuvers.
Other duties as assigned.
