About The Position

The Division of Facilities Construction & Management needs a new Project Manager for our Real Estate Program to procure and manage properties. If you have experience in commercial real estate portfolio management and an understanding of real estate legal documents, this could be the job you've been looking for! This role is located at the Taylorsville State Office Building, 4315 S 2700 W, Taylorsville, Utah, 84129, United States. A background check is required.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in commercial real estate portfolio management.
  • Negotiation and consultation skills.
  • An understanding of real estate legal documents including lease agreements, renewals, purchase and sale, surveys, environmental, and title documents.
  • Oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage real estate on leased facilities and State owned properties.
  • Develop relationships and work with State agencies to identify & define project scopes and potential scope gaps.
  • Create Request For Proposals that adequately describe the size, nature and geographic area of the needed space to potential Landlords.
  • Forecast project schedules including project milestones with State agencies.
  • Manage & assist agency expectations for the project & process.
  • Follow State procurement requirements.
  • Work closely with the new landlord in monitoring all build-out and construction of leased space.
  • Manage the project scope.
  • Communicate throughout the project with various stake holders.
  • Coordinate schedules and tasks with landlords, contractors, facility managers, state agencies, and other professional service companies.
  • Negotiate favorable lease rates with additional lease renewal options.
  • Work closely with tenant agencies so they can make informed and timely decisions on renewing a lease or relocating an office.
  • Draft and circulate relevant documents and agreements for signature.
  • Acquire and manage real estate owned by the Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM), including relevant deeds, right of ways, easements and other property ownership interests.
  • Dispose of surplus real estate no longer needed by the State of Utah and DFCM.
