About The Position

Join Casey’s in shaping a better future for our communities, guests, and team members as a Real Estate Paralegal! As a Real Estate Paralegal, you will independently support the resolution of legal issues within our Real Estate practice. The Real Estate Paralegal handles closings start to finish from drafting purchase agreements, reviewing title agreements and surveys, and handling closing documentation. This role exercises sound judgment on routine to moderately complex matters, escalating issues as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years in a legal assistant, paralegal and/or other related role.
  • Working knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation relevant to the assigned practice area.
  • Familiarity with applicable laws, rules, and regulations related to assigned matters.
  • Experience preparing, processing, filing, and/or recording legal documents and records.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues and determine when escalation.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned matters while operating effectively under attorney supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications or similar software tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provides legal and administrative support, including document preparation and review; factual research and investigation; coordination of information from internal and external sources; and litigation, trial and/or transactional preparation as assigned.
  • Conducts legal and factual research and identify relevant information, witnesses, parties, and subject matter resources for matters within the assigned practice area.
  • Prepare standard and specialized legal documents for internal and external stakeholders with general attorney oversight, identifying issues and escalating as needed.
  • Draft, prepare, and distribute non-standard correspondence, memorandums and practice specific reports.
  • Respond to internal and external requests for documents or information in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Identify and resolve routine legal issues independently under general attorney supervision.
  • Review and revise legal and transactional documents prepared by external parties.
  • Manage routine transactions or legal matters from initiation through completion under general attorney supervision.
  • Perform calculations and compile data accurately for legal analyses, filings, or business decision-making.
