About The Position

Armbrust & Brown is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to support attorneys in its sophisticated real estate practice. This position plays an integral role in managing complex transactions from inception through closing, working directly with clients, title companies, lenders, brokers, surveyors, governmental agencies, and opposing counsel. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced law firm environment. This role requires the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously while delivering exceptional client service and maintaining the highest level of professionalism.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or more years of real estate paralegal experience in a law firm or comparable legal environment.
  • Experience supporting commercial and residential real estate transactions from inception through closing.
  • Experience reviewing title commitments, title policies, surveys, and due diligence materials.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple transactions while meeting deadlines.
  • Professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion.
  • A strong commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of real estate paralegal experience.
  • Experience forming business entities and preparing filings with the Texas Secretary of State.
  • Experience preparing corporate organizational documents and conducting corporate due diligence.
  • Paralegal Certificate and/or Texas Escrow Officer License.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, and proofread legal documents related to commercial and residential real estate transactions.
  • Draft purchase and sale agreements, amendments, deeds, easements, promissory notes, deeds of trust, loan documents, settlement statements, warranty deeds, affidavits, disclosure statements, and other transactional documents.
  • Review title commitments, title policies, surveys, easements, and related due diligence materials.
  • Identify title issues and assist attorneys in preparing curative documents to resolve title objections.
  • Coordinate commercial and residential real estate closings with clients, buyers, sellers, lenders, title companies, real estate agents, brokers, surveyors, governmental agencies, financial institutions, and opposing counsel.
  • Prepare closing checklists, signature packages, closing binders, settlement statements, and post-closing documentation.
  • Coordinate Internal Revenue Code Section 1031 like-kind exchange transactions with Qualified Intermediaries.
  • Form corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, nonprofit entities, and other business entities.
  • Prepare and file organizational documents and Texas Secretary of State filings.
  • Prepare corporate governance documents and perform corporate due diligence.
  • Review and assist with commercial, retail, and residential lease agreements, amendments, assignments, estoppel certificates, and Subordination, Non-Disturbance and Attornment Agreements (SNDAs).
  • Maintain lease abstracts and lease tracking reports.
  • Accurately record time daily in accordance with Firm policies.
  • Build strong working relationships with attorneys, clients, and other transaction participants while delivering exceptional client service.
