About The Position

The Real Estate Paralegal (based out of our Buffalo, NY office) will support attorneys with the real estate transaction process for a successful closing by performing a variety of tasks including legal research, document preparation, case management, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of legal procedures and terminology.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal or in a legal support role.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships while work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of professional and support staff.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organizational workflow and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism, and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to take initiative, be flexible, and demonstrate resiliency.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Relevant Paralegal certification (i.e. ACEBS) is preferred.
  • Work experience as a practicing paralegal in relevant practice area is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, review, and summarize commercial real estate documents.
  • Assist with closing commercial real estate transactions and case preparation by gathering information, preparing discovery documents, and drafting legal pleadings.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Ensure all documents comply with legal procedures and requirements.
  • Assist in managing case files, including organizing case materials, maintaining client records, and tracking deadlines.
  • Prepare and file court documents and correspondence.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and schedule meetings.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all client interactions.
  • Prepare and file documents with courts and other government agencies.
  • Ensure all filings are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and procedures to ensure compliance in all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Additional responsibilities specific to your assigned practice group may be required.
